For the Citi Premier “Triple-Dip”, that day arrives on April 10, 2021.
Full Disclosure: You will also need the Citi Rewards+ card to perform the Citi Premier “Triple-Dip”. If you don’t have the Rewards+ card, fear not – you can still perform the “Double-Dip” with just the Citi Premier card.
Last Chance [Ever] To Use The Citi Premier “Triple-Dip”
What is the “Triple-Dip”?
If you’ll recall, soon after Citi decimated the travel benefits of the Citi Premier credit card, they did somewhat of an about-face and issued a few minor improvements to the card, but at the expense of the 1.25 factor on travel redemptions through the Thank You portal.
As it turns out, the Premier’s 1.25 factor on travel redemptions ends on April 10, 2021.
This means there is one final chance to do the “Triple-Dip” where one can use their Thank You points to earn the following benefits on the same redemption:
- Receive $100 back on $500 in hotel travel when you book through the Thank You portal
- Redeem all points at the Premier’s 1.25 factor
- Receive 10% of those points refunded back to me with my Citi Rewards+ card
Just How Good A Deal Is The “Triple-Dip”?
Well, let’s take a hypothetical situation where you can book two nights at a hotel for $250 a night (or $500 for the stay).
In this scenario, it’s possible to earn 42.4% off with the “Triple-Dip”.
Here’s how the math works:
$500 (or 50,000 Thank You points for the price of hotel stay)
-$100 (or 10,000 points with the Premier’s annual hotel benefit)
= $400
-$80 (8,000 redeemed points saved using the Premier’s 1.25 factor)
=$320
-$32 (3,200 points refunded with the Rewards+ 10% points back benefit)
=$288 (or 28,800 points redeemed total for the stay)
Amazing right?
The Bottom-Line: Last Chance To Use The Citi Premier “Triple-Dip”
