Durango, Colorado is an awesome town. In fact, it’s one of my favorite towns in the United States. So I was pleased when my travels (to Mesa Verde National Park) gave me a reason to head back to Durango.
This time, I opted to check out the newish SpringHill Suites hotel.

SpringHill Suites Durango is located at 77 Mercury Village, Durango, CO, 81301. The hotel is situated in a good location (adjacent to a highway) that offers easy access to the city’s top attractions, including the San Juan National Forest, Animas River, and Historic Downtown Durango.

The 2 Queen Bed Suite was semi-spacious and comfortable, if not “standard” for a SpringHill Suites hotel. The suite featured basic modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, a coffee machine and refrigerator.

The toiletry products offered by the hotel were the 33 Degrees North brand which I found to be of unexpectedly good quality, and included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. For soap, they had the generic sounding “cleansing bar”.

Dining options near the hotel include Derailed Pour House, Michel’s Corner Crepes, and Eolus Bar & Dining.

The hotel offers complimentary breakfast buffet, including eggs with local salsa or Greek yogurt and oatmeal complete with a toppings bar for a variety of options.

FHOP Tip: What’s Nearby: There are plenty of things to do near the hotel, including food and shopping at the nearby downtown, ample hiking trails, wildlife spotting, and other activities. Some of the top attractions include San Juan National Forest, Animas River, and Historic Downtown Durango.

Durango is known for its many “haunted” downtown hotels. Don’t worry, this SpringHill Suites is not located downtown.

SpringHill Suites Durango is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in wonderful Durango, Colorado.
The hotel’s 2 Queen Bed Suite was standard, spacious and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast buffet at the hotel’s restaurant was good and had a variety of basic options to choose from (including strong coffee). The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the city’s top attractions – did I mention I really like Durango? The service was good and the property was on the newer side and clean. Overall, I would rate my experience at SpringHill Suites Durango an 8 out of 10. The hotel offers a good value for money, with modern amenities and a prime location. Its a great choice for Marriott Bonvoy members and both business and leisure (family) travelers.
