Room Upgrade: The Two Bedroom Condo With 1 King Bed and 2 Queen Beds
As Globalists, we were given an upgrade to a two-bedroom condo. These two-bedroom condos at Spirit Ridge typically range from 833 to over 1,200 square feet of indoor living space, complemented by expansive outdoor areas—some with over 480 square feet of furnished patios or balconies. Inside, the condos come with fully equipped gourmet kitchens with premium appliances, cozy fireplaces, and elegant furnishings that reflect the desert-meets-lakeside aesthetic of the region. The master bedroom featured a king-sized bed and a deluxe ensuite bathroom, while the second bedroom included two queen beds and another full bathroom, comfortably accommodating up to six or even eight guests. Our unit included in-suite laundry, sun tunnel skylights, and outdoor balcony with gas grills and panoramic views of the lake.

Breakfast At The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry
The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry is the signature restaurant at Spirit Ridge. Inspired by the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation and their Four Food Chiefs—Black Bear, Chinook Salmon, Bitterroot, and Saskatoon Berry—the menu showcases modern vineyard cuisine with a strong emphasis on locally sourced ingredients, including wild mushrooms, fresh-caught fish, and seasonal produce. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch in a setting that blends casual elegance with panoramic views of the vineyards, lake, and surrounding desert landscape.

Nearby: Spotted Lake
Spotted Lake, known to the Syilx Okanagan people as kłlilx’w, is a natural wonder located just west of Osoyoos, British Columbia, along Highway 3. This small, mineral-rich lake transforms dramatically in the summer months when much of its water evaporates, revealing hundreds of circular “spots” in hues of green, yellow, and blue—each formed by varying concentrations of minerals like magnesium sulfate, calcium, and sodium sulphates. Revered for centuries as a sacred site of healing by the Syilx people, each spot is believed to hold unique medicinal properties. The lake is protected as a culturally and ecologically sensitive area, and while visitors are not permitted to walk down to its shores, a designated viewpoint along the highway offers a breathtaking glimpse of this surreal, polka-dotted landscape.

Property Gallery: Winery & Vineyard
One of the standout features of Spirit Ridge is its connection to the award-winning Nk’Mip Cellars, North America’s first Indigenous-owned and operated winery. Guests can enjoy wine tastings and farm-to-table dining at The Patio restaurant, where traditional Indigenous culinary techniques meet modern flair. Guests can also take a stroll through the vineyard on the way down to the lake.

Property Gallery: Footprints Beach Club & Osoyoos Lake
The Footprints Beach Bar and Grill at Spirit Ridge offers a laid-back dining experience on the shores of Osoyoos Lake. This casual beachfront spot serves items such as ceviche paired with a house-made mango peach habanero sauce, curry wings, and refreshing mango margaritas. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly.

Osoyoos Lake
Osoyoos Lake is an international body of water that straddles the border between British Columbia, Canada, and Washington State, USA. Known as one of the warmest lakes in Canada, it stretches approximately 14 miles and boasts summer water temperatures that can reach up to 33°C (91°F), making it a magnet for swimmers, boaters, and sun-seekers. The lake’s name comes from the Syilx’tsn word sẁiẁs, meaning “narrowing of the waters,” a nod to the lake’s unique geography and cultural roots with the Syilx Okanagan people.

Property Gallery: Desert Cultural Centre
The Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre is operated by the Osoyoos Indian Band and occupies a 1,600-acre conservation area—one of the last remaining tracts of Canada’s only desert ecosystem. Architecturally striking and partially built into the hillside with a rammed earth wall and green roof, the center features immersive exhibits, hands-on displays, and two theatres and several short films about legends and history of the Syilx people. Outdoors, self-guided trails wind through sagebrush and antelope-brush terrain, leading to reconstructed traditional dwellings and interpretive sculptures.

THE FHOP BOTTOM-LINE 10 RATINGS: Spirit Ridge, The Unbound Collection (Osoyoos, Canada)

THE FHOP BOTTOM-LINE Positives & Negatives: Spirit Ridge, The Unbound Collection

The Bottom-Line Review: Spirit Ridge, The Unbound Collection (Osoyoos, Canada)
Our stay at Spirit Ridge was an excellent and unique experience that easily earned a 9.5 out of 10. The two-bedroom condo we stayed in felt more like a private residence than a resort suite, with its generous layout, full kitchen, and expansive patio that framed sunsets over the valley (the pictures above prove it). The in-suite laundry, fireplace, and thoughtful touches like a large deck and two full bathrooms made for a relaxing stay.
What truly elevated the stay, though, was the Nk’Mip Cellars Winery and property vineyard was easily the standout highlight of Spirit Ridge, and a rare feature in the World of Hyatt portfolio (with Alila Napa Valley Valley and Carmel Valley Ranch being the only other properties with vineyards). The lakeside Footprints Beach Bar and Grill was a nice touch, but nothing really to write home about. The onsite restaurant The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry was excellent, as we enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner there (and some tasty drinks on the patio overlooking the lake).
As a World of Hyatt Category 4 Spirit Ridge is an amazing value for Hyatt loyalists. Be aware that during peak periods, a two-night minimum stay may be required when booking with points. Still, it’s more than worth planning around. The location itself on a an active First Nation reservation—perched above Osoyoos Lake and set against a backdrop of desert hills and vineyard rows—was amazing. Did I mention the sunsets?
Spirit Ridge is an ideal retreat for families and groups, thanks to the spacious multi-room condos that offer the comforts of home with resort-style amenities. Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the serene atmosphere and wine cellar, spa services, and sunset views over the vineyards. And for culturally curious travelers, the resort’s location on the Osoyoos Indian Band reservation and its proximity to the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre offer a rare opportunity to engage with Indigenous heritage in a meaningful way. Whether you’re a Hyatt loyalist redeeming points or a road-tripper exploring the Okanagan, Spirit Ridge offers something amazing and unique for every kind of traveler.
FINAL RATING: 9.5 out of 10
