I thoroughly enjoyed my first stay at Alila Napa Valley.

On my second stay, would Alila Napa Valley be as good as I remembered?

We opted to book our reservation using 30,000 World of Hyatt points, which equated to a CPP of 4.98 – outstanding for a World of Hyatt redemption.

Location & Parking

True to the official marketing, Alila Napa Valley is ideally located in the very scenic northwest corner of the town of St. Helena, California.

The hotel sits on a plot of vineyard immediately adjacent to the Beringer Estate.

Parking was by valet only but was [refreshingly] included in the $55 resort fee (as opposed to a separate charge) for even non-Globalists.

Front Desk & Check-In

Check-in was handled in the petite front room office in the Acacia House.

I was warmly greeted, recognized for my Globalist status, quickly checked-in, and informed I’d been upgraded to a “Corner Junior Suite” room on the spot.

As before, this upgraded room was attractively upscale, modern, elegant, and minimalist.

This time around there were two real stars of the room – the view of the vineyard (which was just incredible) and the immense corner balcony.

Balcony (By Day)

Although the room only had one king bed – presumably for a maximum of two people(?) – the huge balcony had rocking chairs overlooking the vineyard, a sun chair overlooking the pool, two additional chairs near the fire pit, and (most curiously) a table for six.

Breakfast (Room Service)

For breakfast (complimentary for Hyatt Globalists), we opted for room service for convenience.

We went with a vanilla latte, and herb tonic, Chilaquiles, Breakfast Sandwich, and the Acacia House pastries.

As expected, everything was delicious.

FHOP Tip: If you have the time, you should checkout Zuzu in Napa. Its Spanish tapas pair brilliantly with vino (or beer). Warning: it’s a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation. The happy hour is not to be missed.

The Bottom-Line Review: Alila Napa Valley (Corner Junior Suite) (California)

Having completed my second stay, I can only describe Alila Napa Valley the way I did the first time around: truly exceptional (and this is coming from a dude who doesn’t even really like wine).

Somehow, I think I enjoyed my second stay even better than my first.

Everything about our stay at the Alila Napa Valley was excellent. Everything. The service, the resort, the food, and even the wine. Excellent. The views of the vineyard were simply incredible, especially at sunset, and the room upgrade made a huge difference in terms of relaxation and really allowing us to spread out.

The Alila Napa Valley is an absolute jewel in the World of Hyatt portfolio, as well as an unexpectedly amazing and uniquely Californian experience that is (of course) best paired with good friends or significant others.

Final Rating: 10 out of 10.
