As Bonvoy Platinum guests, we received a room upgrade to a “1 King Guest Room, Signature View” at check-in.

I value this upgrade to be just over $100 dollars.

Bedroom

The King Guest Room at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort was spacious and elegantly designed with a fusion decor that somehow evoked both Japanese and desert influences.

The rooms feature plush bedding, modern furnishings, and a private balcony or patio with views of the resort’s manicured gardens or golf courses.

Dining Options

The resort offers an array of dining options to suit every palate. For a fine dining experience, guests can indulge in exquisite seafood at the resort’s signature restaurant Fisherman’s Landing, enjoy steaks at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, or enjoy California fare at Aquifer65 or Blue Star Lounge. The resort also features casual dining options, including a Starbucks, a poolside grill and a sports bar with pub-style fare.

Breakfast At Rockwood Grill

We really enjoyed breakfast [lakeside] at the Rockwood Grill. We went with the Eggs Benedict and the brioche French Toast.

Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was dark and strong. Our Bonvoy Platinum breakfast credit covered most of the meal.

The Bottom-Line Review: JW Marriott Desert Springs Palm Desert Resort & Spa (Palm Springs Area, California)

Our stay at the JW Marriott Desert Springs was a great stay overall. The King Guest room provided us with a clean and comfortable retreat, featuring elegant decor, plush bedding, and a private balcony with beautiful views of the lakes and mountains. The gondola rides on the resort’s man-made lakes added a unique and romantic touch to our stay, allowing us to relax and soak in the picturesque surroundings.

Breakfast at the Rockwood Grill restaurant was a delightful culinary experience, made even better by the Bonvoy Platinum credit. The resort’s championship golf courses, with their stunning views and challenging layouts, provided an opportunity to enjoy a round in a picturesque setting.

The overall location of the JW Marriott Desert Springs was exceptional. The resort is secluded, so once you are there – you are there. The one slight negative I would mention is the resort’s size – at times it can feel like Disneyland with its massive size and large crowds – so know that going in.

With its outstanding amenities, attentive staff, and picturesque surroundings, we can easily recommend the resort to families, couples (old and young), large groups, and to even business travelers.

JW Marriott Desert Springs Palm Desert Resort & Spa exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful experience that we highly recommend to others seeking a memorable stay in the Palm Springs area.

Final Rating: 8.75 out of 10.
