Note: As of January 2024, MGM has fully ended its affiliation with Hyatt and joined up with Marriott. You can read more about the MGM/Marriott Partnership by clicking here. This post is from a 2023 stay in the final days of the Hyatt affiliation.

After I learned MGM would be severing ties with Hyatt last year, I embarked one final mattress run for Hyatt Globalist Status using up some room comps I had through MGM Rewards.

This is our review on our 2nd stay at Excalibur Hotel & Casino.

Stay Well Resort Tower 2 Queen Walkthrough Tour:

Room Entrance

The Stay Well Resort Tower 2 Queens Room was a comfortable room that featured a 40-inch flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a safe.

The room featured two queen beds, contemporary furnishings, and amenities designed to promote well-being, such as air purification, circadian lighting, and a Stay Well shower infuser.

Stay Well Room Amenities

Stay Well accommodations at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino provided an added tangible level of wellness and comfort. I’d go so far as to say I’d much prefer a Stay Well room at Excalibur than a standard room.

With features such as air purification, dawn simulator alarm clocks, and shower infusers, these rooms are designed to enhance relaxation and promote a better sleep experience.

Bathroom

The Keur toiletry products in the room were of OK quality.

Dining Options

The dining options at the resort were plentiful, with many different restaurants to choose from. The Steakhouse at Camelot provides a fine-dining experience with its prime cuts of meat. Buca di Beppo is an Italian restaurant that serves family-style dishes, while The Buffet offers a wide variety of cuisines from around the world. Other dining options include Johnny Rockets, Dick’s Last Resort, and Starbucks.

Breakfast At Starbucks

We opted to eat breakfast at Starbucks.

FHOP Tip: The food and coffee were good – as expected – but in retrospect I’d pre-order on the app ahead of time to skip the very long morning line.

Swimming Pool

The pool is large and features a waterslide and a poolside bar. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available for guests to use.

The Bottom-Line Review: Excalibur Hotel & Casino (Las Vegas, Nevada)

I’m surprised to find myself saying this [again], but our stay at Excalibur Hotel & Casino really wasn’t that bad. True, it was comped – and part of a mattress run – but I enjoyed the Stay Well room and the hotel amenities.

The location of the hotel is excellent, although the property itself is somewhat dated, but that’s also why it’s [still] a rare value and a great option for budget travelers who want to stay on the Las Vegas Strip.

It is what it is and I’m holding steady with my previous rating of a 7 out of 10.

Here’s to hoping it’ll still be a value – and maybe even get a refresh – in the upcoming MGM/Marriott partnership.
