After an incredible experience walking on the Athabasca Glacier, it was time to hop back on a bus for the 6km (5 minute) drive up the Icefields Parkway to the next stop on the “Glacier Adventure”, the Glacier Skywalk.

The Pathway to the Skywalk:
The bus from the Athabasca Glacier will drop you off at the Glacier Skywalk parking lot.
You will be ushered into the entrance where you’ll have the option to grab a free audio guide.

Stepping onto the Glacier Skywalk:
The Glacier Skywalk itself has three parts: the path that is anchored to the mountain, the path on the Skywalk without glass-bottom panels, and the curved [farthest out] glass-bottom walkway.

Final Thoughts of the Glacier Skywalk:
I went in thinking this would be kind of gimmicky, but it was actually really well done. Of course, half of that is just the stunning location alone. The Skywalk itself is a novelty for sure, but it was interesting and made for some great views and awesome pictures.
You’ll have as much time on your own as you like here; buses heading back to the Discovery Centre seemed to arrive every 10-15 minutes. Note: There are no bathrooms here.
All in all, I’m glad I did the Glacier Skywalk once — but I wouldn’t necessarily ‘have-to’ do it again. As part of the “Glacier Adventure” is was a fun side trip.
