Why To Consider Upgrading To The World Of Hyatt Credit Card – Now

Yes, the World of Hyatt card has an increased annual fee (from $75 to $95), but it also has some major upgraded benefits – in addition to the already great benefits of the previous card (like the free annual night at a category 1-4 property).

The great new benefits include increased points-earning, additional points-earning categories, an automatic 5 nights toward qualifying status, 2 additional qualifying nights for every $5,000 spent, and the completely awesome additional free night when you spend $15,000 in a year.

The Bottom Line: Earn 2,000 Hyatt Points When You Upgrade To The Chase World Of Hyatt Credit Card

I know, I know – I said wasn’t going to upgrade my card.

Well, looking back on my Hyatt activity this year and projecting my Hyatt stays for next year, I could really use the 5 qualifying nights toward tier status and the additional 2 nights per $5,000 spend. This would put me within reach of Globalist status next year, not to mention give me an additional free night.

The 4X earning on Hyatt stays is also enough to replace my Chase Sapphire Reserve as my card of choice for Hyatt stays.

The 2,000 point bonus is only worth about $20-$30, enough to offset the first year’s increased annual fee. Also, it may be the last, best offer we ever get on this card to upgrade.

Lastly, we gotta talk 5/24. Now that all Chase Hyatt cards fall under 5/24, it’s not worth me canceling then reapplying in 2 years just to earn a sign-up bonus. That may be a risky move anyways, and I don’t want to give Chase any reason to shut my cards down.

If you are thinking about upgrading you’ll have to act soon, you only have until December 31, 2019!

Cheers!
