Two days in Patong is enough to wipeout almost anybody (if you do it the right way).

We left the Coral Beach Lounge and headed to our gate. I was pleasantly surprised (and slightly confused) to learn we’d be flying an ETOPS configured Boeing 777-200 for the short 1-hour flight from Phuket (HKT) to Bangkok (BKK).

The Bottom-Line Review: Thai Airways – Flying Phuket (HKT) To Bangkok (BKK) On A Boeing 777-200

I have flown Thai Airways many times and I have always been a fan.

But this was the first time I’ve flown a Boeing 777 on a domestic 1-hour flight. I couldn’t help but wonder if this route “non-optimization” is part of the larger reason bankruptcy rumors have been swirling for years for this state-owned carrier.

Nevertheless, it was yet another good flight on a clean plane with excellent service. A 1-hour domestic flight in a 777? Sign me up for that any day of the week.

Bottom-Line Review: Highly Recommended!

Cheers!
