The Location:
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel was probably the best located hotel in Calgary. It was literally across the street from the Calgary Tower (on the south-side), and bordering the trendy 8th Avenue (on the north-side), a pedestrian street that is a hot-spot for restaurants, bars, and shopping.
Marriott Downtown Calgary: The Check-in
Checking-in at the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel was a breeze. I was instantly recognized for my status, told of my upgrade to the 22nd floor, and thanked for choosing to spend my stay in Calgary with Marriott.
I was also told I’d have 24-hour access to the M Club Lounge on the second floor with my room key.

The Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel room upgrade was spacious and clean. The bedding was very comfortable and not too-soft.

500 Marriott Points Offer:
This Marriott had a cool offer for 500 Marriott Points daily (after your second night), up to three days (=1,500 points) for each day you pass on housekeeping service.
The Bottom Line:
I really loved the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel. Its location was perfect for walking around and exploring Calgary, and had tons of dining options. The M Club Lounge was all-in-all great, according to marriott.com it is the first of its kind in Canada.
The rooms were clean, the service was great, the drinks were stiff — I have nothing but praise for this [perfectly located] Marriott property.
