After our stay at the Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa Trademark Collection By Wyndham, we were ready to check out the second hotel on our Sedona list, the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe.

Full Disclosure: We visited the Hyatt Residence Club, Piñon Pointe, during the pandemic (when resort services were limited).

The World Of Hyatt Redemption

During our stay at the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe, the nightly rate was $511.41.

However, because the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe, was also a Category 4 Hyatt hotel, the room was bookable for 15,000 Hyatt points per night (a CPP of 3.41, which is a great WOH redemption).

Because of that, at 15,000 points I was able to use up a couple of my World of Hyatt free award nights courtesy of my Chase World of Hyatt credit card.

The Check-In

I was warmly welcomed by the entire front desk staff, and then immediately recognized and thanked for my Hyatt Loyalty.

To my surprise, I was informed that we’d been upgraded from a “Studio” to a full “One Bedroom” unit.

We were then handed a welcome package, a map of the property, and our room keys.

The One Bedroom Upgrade

The One Bedroom upgrade we received turned out to be worth about $300 ($296.14 to be exact).

But that was just in terms of the monetary value.

The Room

Monetary value aside, it turned out an upgrade from a “Studio” to a “One Bedroom” unit was a HUGE upgrade.

The Studio was about 350 square feet in size, while the One Bedroom was about double that and came with a full-size, fully-stocked kitchen.

The Entrance / Dining Nook / Office Desk

Just walking through the front door, we were blown away by the size of the unit.

The Full-Size Kitchen & Washer and Dryer

One of the best things about this unit was the large, full-sized kitchen.

For us, this was the one feature that really made the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe the perfect place to stay.

It came with everything we needed for our stay, right down to the dinner ware, dishwashing soap, paper towels and sponges, and even the toaster.

The Living Area

The living area was great as well.

It was large, comfortable, and came with a full-sized fireplace and sliding door access to the patio outside.

We found ourselves hanging out by the TV with the fire going on multiple cold nights.

The Bedroom Area

The bedroom are was cozy, if not “standard”.

The bed was comfortable and the room came with a flatscreen TV inside an armoire, a large closet, and doorway access to the outdoor patio.

The Bathroom

The bathroom was a standard, large double-sinked type with entrances from both the living area and the bedroom.

The toiletries of choice were the Hyatt Residence Club-branded variety.

The Bathtub

There was a large bathtub (curiously located outside the bathroom-proper) in a space pinched between the bedroom and the bathroom.

The Back Patio

Another great feature of the One Bedroom unit was the patio.

Although there wasn’t a view per se, it was still a large space with plenty of room to hang out over breakfast or lunch.

Walking The Property

Aside from the unit itself, my next favorite thing about the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe was it’s location.

Honestly, it may be the best location in Sedona.

The resort sat next to the junction of Highway 89A and Highway 179  – right smack in the heart of Sedona –  and had truly amazing views of the surrounding area.

The Hyatt Residence Club had direct access to the Shops at Piñon Pointe (next door), and was also about a 5 to 10 minute walk to some of the best restaurants and shopping in Sedona, several tour and off-road rental outfits, and the Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village.

The Bottom-Line Review: Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe

Wow, we really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona, Piñon Pointe.

While not new, truly secluded, or even a “luxury” resort, the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona really was the best option for us because it checked so many important boxes.

With its excellent location, very large rooms, tremendous value on point redemptions, and excellent service (especially for World of Hyatt elites) – the Hyatt Residence Club, Piñon Pointe was the perfect “home-base” for us while we spent a couple days in Sedona.

Without a doubt, we will be back.

Final Rating: 8.5 out of 10.
