I travel to Denver, Colorado, quite often – and I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels – but the one that’s become my “home away from home” as of late is the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar.

Review: Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar (Denver, CO)

Location

Like pretty much everything else in Denver, the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar is located about 45 minutes from Denver International Airport.

Located in the west Denver enclave that is Belmar, the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar provides easy access to Downtown, Lakewood, Littleton, and the Rocky Mountains via 6th Avenue or I-70.

Belmar itself is a well-to-do idyllic little community development that sports an outdoor mall complete with several restaurants, a Whole Foods, movie theater, several big box stores (Nordstrom’s Rack, Dicks Sporting Goods, Best Buy, Staples, Target, etc.), an awesome Vietnamese coffee house, and even an ice skating rink – all steps away from the hotel.

Parking

Parking is easy as the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar shares a parking lot with Target. I was told I could park anywhere in the outdoor portion of the Target lot except for the Target parking garage.

The Redemption

The Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar is a Category 2 hotel with redemptions starting at only 8,000 points a night. This is a steal as rooms can sometimes go for as much as $220.89 a night.

That’s a great redemption value of 2.76 cpp!

The Front Desk And Check-In

The Check-In was fast and done over a laptop. Mobile check-in is also available at this location.

I was recognized for my Hyatt status and offered my free gift of two bottles of water straight out of the snack refrigerators (located just to the right of the front desk).

This is Colorado, so you’ll notice a selection of local craft beers and wine for sale to the right of the front desk.

The Hotel Lobby And Office Space

This Hyatt House’s lobby is a cozy hangout – and people do hangout – giving the lobby a cozy college dorm feel (in a good way).

The King Suite:

Living Area

The living area of the king suite continues with the younger, “no nonsense, college dorm” vibe.

Kitchenette

The kitchenette is modern and comfortable with a large stainless-steel refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and oven couched neatly in an open floor plan that connects with the living area.

Just the bare necessities

Bedroom

The bedroom is modern with a light, comfortable feel. The bed is comfortable, but I’m not a huge fan of down pillows that offer no support.

Bathroom

The bathroom is well lit and minimalist, but does have a large mirror and a make-up bench.

Finally, a shower with a high mounted shower head.

This stuff is soap, etc., and very basic at that.

Breakfast

Breakfast is free at Hyatt Houses, and breakfast at this Hyatt House is served in the lobby. Fresh Seattle’s Best coffee is served in the morning (to the left of the front desk).

You can’t tell from these pictures, but the lobby gets completely packed for breakfast – so be forewarned, every last seat gets taken.

The Bottom-Line Review: Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar (Denver, CO)

If you are reading this blog, you know I’m a fan of Hyatt and I’m a fan of free breakfast. This particular Hyatt House is a great value as a Category 2 property. Whats-more,  this hotel in the heart of Denver is literally surrounded by its own self-contained mini-city that is Belmar.

Whether you are looking for a comfortable hotel for an extended stay, or easy access to west Denver or the Rocky Mountains, the Hyatt House Denver/Lakewood At Belmar is a solid pick that provides big bang for your buck.
