On a recent visit to El Paso, Texas, I stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport since I had an early flight out to Los Angeles.

Here is my review of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport.

Location & Parking

True to its name, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport is indeed located about 7 minutes away (2 miles) from the drop-off area for departures at the El Paso International Airport (ELP).

The hotel is located due South (down Airway Blvd.) from the Airport, on a “hotel row” along Interstate 10 on El Paso’s bustling Eastside (where there are many options for dining, shopping, and site-seeing).

Parking is complimentary for hotel guests.

FHOP Tip: This area is not particularly walkable due to its proximity to the freeway – but it is close to many points of interest. With most attractions close nearby, ride share is a good option to get around.

IHG Rewards Club Redemption And Booking Options

  • Average Price Per Night During Stay: $113 USD
  • Room Type: “1 King Bed Standard”
  • IHG Rewards Club Points Required: 6,000 points (per night)
  • CPP for Redemption: 1.89 CPP
  • Point Redemption Value: Very good for IHG Rewards Club

Lobby

After parking, I headed into the lobby where my initial thoughts were “this was a new hotel that appears much nicer than it needs to be for price (and the surrounding area)”.

Front Desk & Check-In

Check-in at the front desk was fast and easy. I was recognized for my IHG Platinum Status and offered an upgrade to a higher floor.

Bedroom

The bedroom overall appeared new and clean (and it was comfortable); I didn’t find any signs of excessive wear and tear or damage to the room.

Bathroom

Like the bedroom, the bathroom was new and clean with the White Citrus line from Bath and Body Works as the in-house toiletry brand.

Breakfast

Like all Holiday Inn Expresses, this hotel had a complimentary “Express Start Breakfast” – however my early flight made it impossible for me to partake.

The Bottom-Line Review: Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport (TX)

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport as I found a new hotel, in a good location, close to the airport, at an incredible value of only 6,000 points per night.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this hotel for a family vacation, but I would recommend it for business travelers, people trying to catch an early morning flight, or tourists looking for a centralized home-base to explore El Paso.

Yes, it’s a “vanilla hotel” but a solid hotel in the Holiday Inn Express nonetheless. The bottom-line is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso Airport offers a consistent product at a great price (or point redemption).

Final Rating: 7 out of 10
