Two epic days exploring the wonderland that is Bagan was simply not enough.
But, alas, it was time to head off to our next adventure in Myanmar: Inle Lake, where we’d be staying at the interestingly unique Paramount Inle Resort.
Review: Golden Myanmar Airlines – Flying Bagan (NYU) To Heho (HEH) On An ATR-72 (Heho, Myanmar)
For whatever reason, flights to the Inle Lake gateway city of Heho were a little scarce, but we found that Golden Myanmar Airlines serviced this route on a semi-regular schedule.
Having tried – and liked – Air KBZ , our previous foray into Burmese aviation, we were game to try Golden Myanmar Airlines.

Like Air KBZ, Golden Myanmar Airlines flew the preferred plane in domestic Myanmar travel, the ATR 72-600.

We didn’t know it at the time, but the meal served on this flight by Golden Myanmar Airlines turned out to be the best meal on all of our flights within Myanmar.
What you see below is the ultra-rare and delicious “Burmese Hot-Dog Sandwich” meal.

The Flight Into Heho
Flights in Myanmar’s dry season are smooth as silk. This was no exception.
The flight attendant service was quick, friendly, and to the point (in a good way).
By our second flight on the ATR 72-600, I started developing a real fondness for this airplane

The Bottom-Line Review: Golden Myanmar Airlines – Flying Bagan (NYU) To Heho (HEH) On An ATR-72 (Heho, Myanmar)
The early morning flight from Bagan’s Nyaung U Airport (NYU) to Heho Airport (HEH) was another flight within Myanmar on the standard domestic airplane of choice, the ATR 72-600.
Flying at about 11,000 feet, this flight’s total airtime clocked in at about 45 minutes. Even so, the airline provided free beverage service and a lunch pack with the best sandwich in the air in Myanmar. I stand by that!
Pilots provided flight and weather updates in both Burmese and English.
Final Review: Flying Golden Myanmar Airlines From NYU-HEH: Highly Recommended (even though your other alternatives may be limited).
