OK. So technically, the title of this post was a little bit of a bait-and-switch. There is no “Executive Lounge” at the Hilton Ngapali Resort and Spa.

But, this being one of the swankiest and luxurious Hilton Resorts in the world, you can bet they had something in lieu of an Executive Lounge. But what was it it exactly, and was it any good?

Review: Executive Lounge, Hilton Ngapali (Thandwe, Myanmar)

Instead of an Executive Lounge [proper], the Hilton Ngapali offers something that is arguably far better – access to FLOW restaurant for tea, coffee, soft drinks, and juices throughout the day and access to the SHORE bar for Happy Hour during sunset hours (5:00 pm to 7:00 pm).

Access To The (In-Lieu-Of) Executive Lounge

Its true, being a Hilton Honors Diamond member has its privileges. At the Hilton Ngapali Resort and Spa, even Hilton Honors Gold members get to share in one of the best privileges of all – access to the Executive Lounge.

The Juice Bar At FLOW

The daytime benefit is great, as you get the standard coffee, tea, soft drinks, and juices that most Executive Lounges offer, but you also get the proximity to the pool and the view of the Indian Ocean that no other Executive Lounge can match.

Overview Of SHORE Bar

Located directly above FLOW, SHORE bar is a great space as well. The bar itself is tropical, with a modern and classy feel to it that was somewhat of a rarity in Myanmar.

Happy Hour

The best part of a Hilton Executive Lounge is, of course, Happy Hour. That was 100% true here as well.

Excellent Thai-inspired appetizers to go with the cocktails

Moving onto the “Sea-Dogs”, the choice craft cocktail of the night.

The Sunset

The view from the Balcony of SHORE is absolutely stunning. You may come for the drinks, but you’ll stay for the sunset.

You know you’ve played your cards right when you watch the sun drop from view and then see the green glow from the fishing boats slowly illuminate the horizon.

The Bottom-Line Review: Executive Lounge, Hilton Ngapali (Thandwe, Myanmar)

Executive Lounge? Who needs an Executive Lounge when you have FLOW and SHORE?

We spent the entire cocktail hour putting away Old Fashioneds and Sea-Dogs (my new favorite tropical cocktail) while munching on chips, nuts, and delicious appetizers. What’s more, we met some really cool people at Happy Hour and engaged in wonderful conversations – all while watching one of the most incredible sunsets on the planet.

The service was as great as the drinks (shout-out to the mixologists Ye Htut and James). The staff of the Hilton Ngapali really went above and beyond for its Hilton Honors members with elite status, doing everything in their power to treat Gold and Diamond members as true honored and valued guests.

It was definitely a highlight of our stay in Ngapali.

Highly Recommended!

Cheers!
