After an amazing day exploring Mandalay and a couple hours enjoying our room with a view at the Hilton Mandalay, it was time to head over to the hotel’s Executive Lounge for cocktail hour.

Review: Executive Lounge, Hilton Mandalay (Mandalay, Myanmar)

Access To The Executive Lounge

Its true, being a Hilton Honors Diamond Member has its privileges. At the Hilton Mandalay, even Hilton Honors Gold members get to share in one of the best privileges of all – access to the Executive Lounge.

Executive Lounge Hours And Overview

Open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, the Executive Lounge is a great benefit that provides various hors d’oeuvres, snacks, afternoon tea, and of course – the “main event” – namely the Pre-dinner Cocktail Hour (which runs from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm nightly).

The Lounge Layout

While not exactly large, this Executive Lounge is spacious with a main area of tables with a television (usually set on news of the day) and another adjoining “room” with leather couches.

The lounge itself is moderately trafficked, but there always seemed to be enough tables to accommodate all guests to the lounge.

The Food

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of the snacks.

They had various fruits and vegetables, desserts , as well as some signature lounge food items like shrimp cocktail, bacon-wrapped chicken, and even some great little dim sum sides.

Alcohol And The Pre-Dinner Cocktail Hour

Snacks and coffee are fine. But we were there for the Cocktail Hour.

Although the Executive Lounge’s alcohol selection was limited, it was still stocked with all the major staples (bourbon, scotch, vodka, gin, wine, beer, etc.). We’re talking the mid-shelf, name-brand stuff, though you would have to order it at the front desk.

We went with the ol’classic – Jack and Coke – and I can vouch they were not shy on the pours.

Needless to say, we took full advantage of the cocktail hour. Full advantage.

The Bottom-Line Review: Executive Lounge, Hilton Mandalay (Mandalay, Myanmar)

What’s not to like? If you hold Diamond or Gold status in Hilton Honors, you have access to this Executive Lounge. As always, Executive Lounges are a great and rewarding benefit for Hilton members, and the Executive Lounge at the Hilton Mandalay was no exception.

The food and drink spread was actually better than it had any right being, and the space was a comfortable and relaxing place to just “hang out”.

Besides, the service was great and the Cocktail Hour drinks were strong. What more could you ask for?

Highly Recommended!

Cheers!
